‘Most wanted’ House burglar Apprehended by Hyderabad Police

Hyderabad: A “most wanted” house burglar has been caught by Hyderabad police with property almost worth Rs 19 lakhs, on Thursday

Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar, speaking to media stated, “The Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone Team, Hyderabad arrested the most wanted house burglar, in particular, Nenavath Vinod Kumar, otherwise known as Akhilesh alongside Katravath Rajesh, they were involved in eight house burglary cases.”

Kumar stated, “The police have seized gold ornaments weighing about 35 grams worth roughly Rs 17 lakhs and a net cash of about Rs 1,25,000 from his (Nenavath) possession.”

Kumar further stated that the police have taken the two house burglary offenders out of three into custody. Accused Shakeel has been absconding. The accused Nenavath Vinod Kumar is a local of Amangal Mandal of Rangareddy District and is currently a resident of Balapur, The commissioner stated.

The commissioner stated, “He is a discontinued B. Tech student and was accustomed to all kinds of social vices.”

Between 2014 and 2019, the accused Vinod Kumar was engaged in upwards of 42 cases and was apprehended many times by the police.

The commissioner included, “Based on these cases, the accused was detained three times under Preventive Detention Act in 2015, 2017 and 2019.”

Subsequent to being freed from prison in January 2020, the accused once again committed eight house robberies in the limits of Hyderabad and Rachakonda Commissionerates alongside Shakeel and Katravath Rajesh.

Kumar added, “The apprehended accused along with the seized properties have been handed over to SHO, Charminar Police Station for further action to be taken. Efforts are being made to arrest the absconding accused.”

In a similar case: In August, A 4-member group of house robbers, involved in 6 cases, was taken into custody by the Ghatkesar police on Sunday. The police seized  70 gms gold and 1 kg silver trimmings from them.

The apprehended people were identified as B Sunil, Jagadeesh, Selva Kumar and Rajashekar, all residents of Rampally and Ghatkesar.

As per the police, the group looked through residential colonies in secluded territories and identified locked houses during the day. They returned to break into them and rob during the night. They fled with money, jewellery and electronics from the house.
