Mumbai: In a major swoop, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized ‘Malana Cream’ drug worth about Rs 2.50 crores in Mumbai, official sources stated here on Wednesday.
The raid was done early this morning and Regel Mahakal, a provider of the Malana Cream – positioned as the purest form of Hashish – was detained for interrogation and later apprehended.
The raids were conducted late Tuesday-early Wednesday in Andheri west regions after Mahakal’s name sprung up during the ongoing drugs investigations by the NCB.
He allegedly used to provide drugs to Anuj Keshwani, also an accused in the case who was taken into custody in September this year, who was providing it to other people, he said.
Keshwani allegedly provided drugs to entertainer Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant’s last girlfriend and furthermore the main accused in his death case.
One additional individual was also taken into custody during the raids, the official said without uncovering further details.
The most recent raid is said to be connected with the ongoing investigations into the Bollywood-drug mafia angle that arose after the death of Bollywood entertainer Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, on June 14.
As a part of the investigations, more than 25 people have been taken into custody and more than 50, including Bollywood celebrities, actresses, actors, a few foreigners, drug providers and peddlers, and so on, have been grilled by the NCB to uncover the nexus.
Those under the NCB radar include Rhea Chakraborty, her sibling Showik Chakraborty, Arjun Rampal, Bharti Singh and her spouse Harsh Limbachiya, among others.
Relating to the drugs case, Rhea Chakraborty and her sibling Showik were apprehended for allegedly organizing drugs for the late actor.
While Rhea was allowed bail in October, Showik got bail recently.
In addition, other film entertainers, for example, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Arjun Rampal were additionally summoned and interrogated by the anti-drugs agency.
