Hyderabad: The State Election Commission has released the notification for first phase of polls for local bodies in Telangana. State Election Commissioner Nagi Reddy today issued the notification for 197 ZPTC and 2166 MPTC polls. The poll body has made arrangements in 32 districts for the first phase of the local bodies polls.
Nagi Reddy also issued instructions to the returning officers in the districts for smooth conduct of the polls. With this, filing of nominations for the ZPTC and MPTC polls was started. The candidates can file nominations till April 24, scrutiny will be on 25 and appeal for changes on 26 and changes will be made on 27. The poll body has set deadline for withdrawal of nominations till April 28. Nagi Reddy will announce the final list of candidates in poll fray on April 28. First phase of the polls will be held on May 6. (NSS)
