The Hyderabad police have arrested an NRI, Mohd Waseem, for threatening Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA T Raja Singh over the phone. Waseem, a resident of Dubai, UAE, made frequent phone calls to the Goshamahal MLA, prompting Singh to file a complaint at the cybercrime police station in Hyderabad.
Mohd Waseem, originally from Barkas in the Old City, was traced through his phone and IP address. Following an investigation, the police issued a lookout circular and alerted all airports. Waseem was apprehended by the Cybercrime police upon his arrival at Shamshabad airport in Hyderabad.
This incident is not isolated, as Raja Singh has previously reported receiving threatening calls from foreign locations. In an earlier case, a man from Saidabad was arrested for similar threats and subsequently remanded.

Due to the recurring nature of these threats, Raja Singh’s security has been upgraded. The MLA has claimed that he is being targeted for his work related to Sanatan Dharma. “They are threatening to kill me and my family if I work for Dharma,” he stated.
Singh has also expressed frustration with the Hyderabad police’s response to his complaints. He has sent written complaints to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana, providing screenshots of the threatening messages as evidence.
In a notable act of defiance, Raja Singh allegedly shared the phone number of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy with his callers, reflecting his dissatisfaction with the authorities’ inaction on his reports.
