Olympic Winner PV Sindhu Receives Warm Welcome at RGI Airport

Olympic Bronze Medalist and Badminton star PV Sindhu and her Korean coach Park Tae-sang received a warm welcome at Hyderabad International Airport today.

The State  Sports, Tourism and Culture, Minister, V Srinivas Goud, Sports Authority of Telangana (SATS) Chairman A. Venkateshwar Reddy and Commissioner Of Police of Cyberabad VC Sajjanar, and Shamshabad DCP N Prakash Reddy, and other officials accorded the warm welcome to the Sindhu at the airport. The minister later grandly felicitated the badminton star on her historic achievement.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister and other dignitaries have said that by winning the bronze, Sindhu became only the second Indian and first women athlete from the country to bag two consecutive Olympic medals.

They also said that the  26-year-old from Hyderabad defeated China’s He Bing Jiao to win the bronze medal in a play-off.
