Online property registration service to be offered by Waqf Board

Latest reports indicate that Telangana Waqf Board is undergoing reforms to improve services to the public.

Since the board successfully introduced online services within the “Qudaat section” for the issuance of marriage certificates, Mutawalli, the managing committee, and the registration of new Waqf properties online are being introduced on May 10.

The public won’t have to come personally to the Waqf Board’s office for the renewal of Mutawalli, managing committees, or for endowing new properties for Waqf, according to Shahnawaz Qasim, the board’s Chief Executive.

Qasim revealed that, as of May 10, an online application submission process would be implemented. At the time of submitting the application, an OTP will be generated and all information regarding the file will be provided over the phone.

Middlemen’s illegal activities will be put to a stop with the new system, which will end corruption within the Waqf Board. After proving to be successful in the Quzaat section, it is now being used for Mutawalli, managing committees, and new Waqf property registrations.

This system will additionally enable the Waqf Board to have access to information on the number of committees and Mutawallis in Telangana.

Additionally, the board must have information on every institution’s income, as well as all Waqf fund payments.

“The applicant shall receive a receipt number after submitting his application and will be notified within 60 days when his application has been expedited.  Applications can be tracked online and the applicants will be informed whether their applications were accepted or rejected. If the application is not expedited within 60 days, the Waqf Board will be liable,” Qasim said.

In the case of the absence of relevant documents and information, applications will not be accepted. This online service’s primary goal is to provide transparency, Qasim said.
