Open 21 roads in Cantonment area: KTR urges Kishan Reddy

Municipal and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao today urged Union Minister G Kishan Reddy to take steps for opening 21 roads closed in the Secunderabad cantonment area.

On his Twitter handle the minister tagged an appeal by a netizen about the closure of the roads causing much inconvenience to the vehicle users and people.

The Minister urged Kishan Reddy to urge the Centre to ensure that the 21 roads are reopened for public use. He already urged the Centre and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on the same issue.

KT Rama Rao opposed Union Minister Ajay Bhat for informing the parliament that only 2 roads were closed in the cantonment area. KT Rama Rao also gave details of 21 roads with names to Kishan Reddy to open them.

Ensure that the roads are opened for the public and avoid inconvenience, he said. He also expressed displeasure that the Centre is not addressing the same issue despite repeated appeals.

KTR also demanded that the Cantonment area should be merged with the GHMC for more roads and development. The Centre is yet to respond on the same as Kishan Reddy asked for the names of the 21 roads.
