Sant Kabir Nagar: The police department in Sant Kabir Nagar area have taken a man into custody, who was released on bail, regarding the alleged kidnapping, Murder and Rape of a seven-year-old girl.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Brijesh Singh stated the young girl had disappeared on November 4 and her body was discovered on Saturday. The post mortem report indicated rape.
The SP said that the accused, who was taken into custody on Sunday, has admitted to his crime.
He said to the police that on November 4 when he saw the young girl all by herself, he kidnapped her and took her to a jungle. He rape the young girl first and afterwards murder her.
In the early hours of Sunday, IG Basti zone, Anil Kumar Rai and SP Brijesh Singh arrived at the village and pacified the upset local people by guaranteeing them of stern action against the accused. A heavy police force has been dispatched in the village.
A seven-year of age girl of Aurahiya-Manjharia village in Belhar zone of Sant Kabir Nagar locale had disappeared on Wednesday and her clothes were discovered close to a forest near the village three hours later.
The young girl, a student of class IV, was the daughter of a farmer. On the written complaint of the young girl’s father, Belhar police filed a case of abduction against unidentified people. On Saturday, police took 27 years old Lal Bahadur into custody, a resident of Akholna village, in Belhar police station area.
During the questioning, he admitted to the crime and told police that he had abducted the young girl from a field when she was all alone and took her to Siyarahwa Ghat two kilometre away, where he raped and murdered her and afterwards buried the body near a nullah close by, stated senior police officers.
The accused was recently freed from prison on bail in a case of having unnatural sex with a boy in Basti prison. He had been freed on bail three months back.
