“Pakistan captain need to be like Dhoni”- Kamran Akmal

Breaking all norms of staying jealous and spewing hate against the neighboring country, Pakistan cricket team’s wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal spoke in favor of the former Indian cricket team captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and said that Pakistan too needs a captain like him to lead the way. He spoke highly of Dhoni saying that a captain who doesn’t look or aim for personal accomplishments is a captain worth having.

Players from all over the world called MS Dhoni as the best captain and cricketer of the time. The former leader broke the hearts of millions of fans by announcing his retirement from international cricket on August 15th this year. However, he will still be playing for IPL (Indian Premier League) which will be held in UAE this time due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Joining the list of cricketers appreciating the work of Dhoni, Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal said in an interview with Paktv.tv, “He was a player who took the team along. Doing captaincy is very easy, that I do captaincy and my place remains secure whether the team wins or losses, you have no concern. But Dhoni had this specialty that he was building the team and his own performance was also world-class. You can see the players he was creating, they are still No.1. He only wanted to do good for his country.”

Praising him further, Mr. Akmal said that Dhoni is worthy of the last match played in his honor to bid him adieu, comparing him to another cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar who was added in the team for the World Cup 2011. He mentioned the previous captains of Pakistan, InzamamUlHaq and YounisKhan whose captaincy period lasted from 2003-2007 and 2005 respectively.

He added, “Such players should not go like this, he should get a standing ovation. He should get a farewell match where he goes from the ground, like the way the great Sachin Tendulkar went. He has gone just like his name Mr. Cool. Such a player comes rarely in world cricket. Such captains are very much required. We have seen Inzibhai and Younisbhai, how they have carried the team along. MS Dhoni was destined to play for India and he did well for his nation. He is a great example in front of us. He has not only played cricket but built a team as well and taken the Indian in an upward direction. Such mentality should also be there in our captains.”

Along with Kamran, the eldest of the Akmal brothers clan, other Pakistani cricketers like ShahidAfridi, InzamamUlHaq, Rashid Latif, MudassarNazar, Mohammed Yusuf, Moin Khan and many more called Dhoni the best captain and gave a note of farewell to the cricketer loved by millions across the globe.
