Patients from other states can come for treatment to Telangana: Health Director

Telangana Health Director Dr.Srinivas Rao today said that ambulances are not being stopped intentionally. They can reach the city from other states on getting prior permission which was mandated, he informed.

Talking to media persons here he said that the government does not intend to stop any vehicles on the borders. We are overburdened with the corona patients and to avoid rush and panic out of it the government issued a circular he clarified.

He said that about 45 percent of the patients getting treatment here from other states like AP, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, and others he said. The government hospitals inform that they get patients from Delhi, Bihar and others get permission to avail themselves health services he said.

The director of health further said that the people coming from other states can reach Hyderabad on getting e-challan and permission for beds in the hospitals.

Only those who already got this permission are being allowed as per norms to avoid rush and difficulties to the patients. A call center was opened to give immediate permissions to the ambulances he said. There is no delay from the government or the call center to enable the ambulances and the corona patients he added. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar wrote letters to other states in this regard and we expect the patients to cooperate,he said.

Oxygen supplied every day is being consumed and we need more stocks, he said, adding that the patients can reserve their beds in advance and come here following the conditions.

There is no need to face problems after denial beds as most of the patients seek them in 15- 20 big hospitals here. To avoid unnecessary rush and panic they must obtain permission to avail through a state control room.

Following court instructions, we are updating the beds, medicines, and other details through dashboards and bulletin he said.
