Permanent Solution to Nalas in GHMC Soon: Srinivas Yadav

Animal Husbandry Minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that the government will study and show the final solution to nalas and waterlogging by removing illegal structures.

Along with Home Minister Mahamood Ali, Srinivas Yadav held a review meeting with Mayor G Vijayalakshmi and officials here on the preparedness for the rainy season, nalas, and related issues.

Later the minister informed that the government will show a permanent solution to the nalas issue and stagnation of waters through a study.

Necessary machinery will be used to remove silt from the nalas to pave way for free flow of traffic by avoiding inundation of the roads.

A special committee was set up on the crucial issue and on getting its report a workshop to be held. Municipal minister KT Rama Rao will hold a review and take a call, he said.

The minister said that a study is on to find out a permanent solution to the problem. We are conducting desilting works along 1360 km by spending Rs 45 cr every year. Through manpower, nalas cleansing is not possible and machinery to be used for it he said. He said that illegal structures on nalas and lakes will be removed.

Encroached and illegal structures on the lakes and lakes to be removed for addressing nalas issue, the minister said.

We will provide a double bedroom housing facility for those who lost their houses during the removal of encroached areas, he said. With KTR a meeting will find a solution and a call will be taken by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The minister said that the traffic problems were addressed in the city at several places including LB Nagar and to do so at the Uppal area. He instructed the GHMC and staff to be ready to tackle the rainy season and ensure the safety of people.
