Ponnala Laxmaiah Slams Union Budget

HYDERABAD: Former TPCC president and former minister Ponnala Laxmaiah today slammed union budget introduced by daughter in law of Telugu speaking state Union finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman.

He mocked that although the union finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman belonged to the Telugu speaking states, no funds were allocated to the two states in the union budget

Presented by the union finance minister. She made these remarks while talking to media persons after the presentation of the union budget. Speaking on the occasion he said that no allocation was made to protect the employment sector of the country. Ponnala said that the petrol and diesel prices had gone up in the country.

Referring to the comments of the Union Minister that their’s was a poor man’s budget, he said that no allocation was made for the welfare of the poor people of the country. Citing that the Hyderabad metro rail is the largest in the country, he ruled that no budgetary allocation was made to the project for its expansion.

He said that no subsidies were given to the poor people of the country. He said that both ruling TRS and opposition BJP had become a curse to the state and added that the two parties had failed to protect the interests of the state. Ponnala said that the economy of the country was very strong during the Congress party’s rule.

Referring to the allocation of ₹64000 crores to the health sector of the country, he termed the allocation as meager and wondered if such a small amount of allocations were enough in the ongoing pandemic times.

He claimed that a lion’s amount of allocations were made to the states which are going for elections in the country. He said that there was no mention of the ongoing farmers’ agitation and encroachment of Indian territory by neighboring China.
