Two days after the Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi who was pushed while marching towards Hathras to meet the victim’s family He will once again attempt to visit Uttar Pradesh’s district on Saturday along with several other party leaders.
Several Congress MP’s under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi will Visit to Hathras on Saturday afternoon to meet the grieving family of the 19-year old woman, who was brutally assaulted and murdered and her body was cremated surreptitiously in the middle of the night by the administration, the party leaders told.
A party leader also told that the Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi will meet the family members to hear their grievances and demand justice for them and the victim. On Saturday Rahul Gandhi was supposed to participate in a tractor rally in Punjab. But, the tractor rally against the controversial farm laws was postponed to Sunday.
For the last two days, the village of the victim has been sealed off, where the media and other political groups are not allowed to go inside.
On Friday, Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien was also stopped by the Uttar Pradesh Police just a few kilometres away from the village of the victim in the Hathras district.
A Prayer was attended by Priyanka Gandhi at the Valmiki temple for the Hathras rape victim on Friday, Priyanka Gandhi told the family of the woman that they should not feel alone.
Rahul Gandhi along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tried to visit Hathras but was stopped and not allowed to pass the Gautam Buddha Nagar district, their vehicle was stopped on the Yamuna Expressway on Thursday.
The Congress Leaders then started marching towards Hathras following which the Uttar Pradesh Police Personnel misbehaved with Rahul Gandhi. In the scuffle with the police personnel, he fell on the ground.
The Congress leaders were then detained by the Uttar Pradesh Police and then sent back to Delhi. The Uttar Pradesh Police detained the two Congress leaders and sent them back to Delhi. The 19-year old Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped in Hathras by four men. She passed away at Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital on a Tuesday morning. A Satyagraha will be held by The Congress all over the country on October 5, to protest against the behaviour shown by the Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath Government towards the Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as they were on their way to Hathras to meet the family of the gang-rape and murder victim.
K.C. Venugopal, the Secretary of the Organisation in a notice to all state and district units. Asked them to protest against the Uttar Pradesh Government and all senior leaders of a particular district including MP’s, MLAs and ex-public representatives have been asked to lead the satyagraha.
The party has asked the leaders at the state and district level to plan the programme and send it to the Congress headquarters as soon as possible.
