Rain affected areas in Jalpally to get sewerage facility soon

The areas affected with waterlogging and sewerage overflowing issues in Jalpally municipality to have their own sewerage system soon as the proposal under Strategic Nala Development Program (SNDP) has finally got the government’s nod.

While conducting a review meeting today, the Minister for Education P.Sabita Indra Reddy has finally approved the proposal and instructed the officials to take up works on war footing.

During the meeting, that saw the presence of Commissioner Jalpally Municipality G.P.Kumar, and officials of Strategic Nala Development Program, the Minister rolls out the map and discussed various issues concerning Jalpally, Badangpet and Meerpet of Maheshwaram constituency.

While picking over the issues, the minister – who is also a representing Maheshwaram constituency, said the rain related works should be taken up on priority basis and the task must be completed on time bond manner.

During the meeting the issues, that came across while Minister’s visit to different colonies affected with seasonal rains came up for discussion to which the minister said “As most of the colonies in Jalpally and Meerpet municipalities are suffering with rain related issues, these problems must addressed on war footing. The minister approved the proposal for laying sewerage works in Metro City, Dream City, Green City and Nabeel Colony in Jalpally under Strategic Nala Development Program (SNDP).

As per the proposed plan, an underground drain system to a length of 385 meters with 3×3 diameters will be constructed to ensure safe passage of sewerage beside the storm water often causing water clogging in several colonies during the rainy season.

According to an official, a meeting of councillors would also be convened soon chaired by the Chairman Jalpally Municipality and Commissioner G.P. Kumar to discuss the issue further.
