Rajender stresses need for affordable health services

Hyderabad: Health Minister Eatala Rajender today appealed to the NRI doctors to focus on providing affordable healthcare services to poor as the TRS government is spending huge funds for public healthcare and services in the State. He said about Rs 6,000 crore was being spent every year for public health across the State.

Addressing the 18th global health care summit conducted by American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin at a hotel here today along with his colleague Errabelli Dayakar Rao and others, Rajender Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has developed 17 sectors in the State during his stint and was spending huge funds for welfare. KCR has developed the State in such a way that every citizen in Telangana has to talk of it greatly, he said. Rajender said spending Rs 6,000 crore for healthcare sector alone speaks volumes about the State government, which was keen on providing improved healthcare services to its people.

Rajender also underscored the need for adopting latest technologies and transfer of knowledge with regard to latest treatments, research findings and ensure affordable treatment to the people. The NRIs should come back to the state and serve to its people as the government was ready to support them, he urged.

The government hospitals in the State have been upgraded with adequate equipment and modern technologies. Still the government was committed to fund the hospitals to provide corporate healthcare services to its people in all the hospitals, Rajender said. He also exhorted big business men and industrialists to shoulder corporate responsibility and lend support to the government in its efforts to improve healthcare services across the State.
