Revanth Reddy asks Congress workers to remain in the party

TPCC president A Revanth Reddy appealed to the cadre not to quit Congress and instead, to strive for the party’s success in the Munugode bypoll as many Congress party workers and leaders have left and joined other parties, including the ruling TRS party.

Congress workers and leaders have been fighting relentlessly for the people for eight years, he said, adding, be patient for one more year as Congress will come to power.

The TPCC president said he was unable to visit Munugode due to Covid in a video message released on Monday. According to Revanth Reddy, he will be visiting Munugode beginning August 20 and will start working for the party’s victory.

According to the TPCC president, the ruling TRS was poaching Sarpanches and ZPTCs in Munugode. The BJP and TRS needed to be taught a lesson for betraying the people, he said.

He has claimed that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao is on another buying spree of Congress leaders, demonstrating his fear of losing the Munugode bypoll and his lack of confidence in his administration.

Reddy said in a message here that the TRS had turned Telangana into a political defection factory, buying people’s representatives with money and threats during the bypolls. The CM only remembers opposition party sarpanches, MPTCs, ZPTCs, and other leaders during bypolls and buys them like cattle with ill-gotten money.

The bypoll in Munugode was crucial. Leaving the party now would not bode well for the party, and workers leaving the party would be making a historic mistake, he added.

He further said that now was the time to reject KCR’s undemocratic practices and that being enticed by money or threats would be a great injustice to the people of Telangana who wanted to defeat KCR.
