Rituraj hits record seven sixes in an over

Right-arm opener Rutoraj Gaikwad, who represents the Indian cricket team at the international level, on Monday created an incredible record by hitting seven sixes in an over, the first time in List A cricket that a batsman has hit seven sixes in an over. Shiva, against whom Gaekwad set the record, finished with 0/88 in nine overs.

Maharashtra’s innings was a one-man show from Gaekwad as the rest of the batsmen combined to score just 96 runs off 142 balls. Gaekwad took 43 runs from Shiva’s over, making it the most expensive over in List A cricket. , which equaled Brett Hampton and Joe Carter’s combined effort for Northern District in the Ford Trophy. He also became the first Indian batsman to score 43 runs in an over in List A cricket. The 25-year-old Gaikwad also became the second batsman to reach the double-century mark in the ongoing edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy after Tamil Nadu’s Narayan Jagadeesan scored 277 runs against Arunachal Pradesh in Bengaluru.
