Russia Begins Mass Production of Carnivac-Cov; World’s First Covid 19 Vaccination for Animals

While vaccinating humans against the Coronavirus, Russia has started to work on a different kind of vaccine. The new vaccine is for animals named Carnivac-Cov.

Russia’ Agricultural Watchdog Reveals Animal Covid Vaccination Details

Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia’s agricultural watchdog announced on Friday that the country has started the mass production of Carnivac-Cov. The first batch of 17,000 doses has already been produced at the Federal Centre of Animal Health. They said that there has been a huge domestic demand for the vaccine for animals. And the first batch of doses will be distributed within the country.

They also said that some of the foreign nations have also down interest in the same. So far, the production capacity stands at 3 million doses per month and will eventually increase to 5 million doses per month in the coming future.

As per the reports, Russia is currently in the process of the fast registration of the vaccine abroad, especially in the European Union.

On March 31, Rosselkhoznador announced that they had registered the Carnivac-Cov vaccine.

Kittens Get Covid 19 From Owners

As per the latest update, the authorities from the United Kingdom issued a warning to the netizens to avoid cuddling from their pets if they have contracted with the Coronavirus. This comes after some kittens were caught with the Covid symptoms from their owners and started to show respiratory concerns.

So far, only two cases of human-to-cat transmission of Covid 19 have been identified at the University of Glasgow. Daniella Dos Santos, Senior Vice President at the British Veterinary Association said that there have been a very small number of cases in which domestic pets caught the coronavirus from their owners.

She advised to the people who have been tested in Covid 19 positive to maintain distance from their pets for a while as a precautionary measure and keep washing their hands. She also suggested wearing facemasks and washing hands before and after going near their pets.
