Saudi Arabia Furnishes Grand Mosque with 33,000 Luxury Carpets for Ramadan

Saudi authorities have adorned the Grand Mosque in Makkah with 33,000 luxury carpets during the holy month of Ramadan, ensuring enhanced comfort for worshippers and pilgrims.

According to the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, the carpets are made in Saudi Arabia and are renowned for their high quality, exquisite craftsmanship, and durability. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the carpets, measuring 1.2 meters by 4 meters or 1.2 meters by 3 meters, are specifically used on Fridays, during Ramadan, and in other peak seasons at the Grand Mosque.

Each carpet is 1.6 cm thick, designed to withstand heavy foot traffic, ensuring a seamless and comfortable prayer experience for millions of worshippers. The General Authority also reaffirmed its commitment to providing top-tier services to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, along with visitors to the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah.

In addition to furnishing carpets, the authority revealed that it had provided nearly 11 million iftar meals to Umrah pilgrims and worshippers at the Two Holy Mosques during the first half of Ramadan. The initiative aims to facilitate a smooth and spiritually fulfilling experience for the millions of devotees visiting Islam’s holiest sites.

With Ramadan being a sacred time of worship for Muslims who fast from sunrise to sunset, Saudi authorities continue to prioritize hospitality and enhanced services for pilgrims, reinforcing their commitment to serving Islam’s holiest sanctuaries.
