Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today criticized AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi for his rant of corruption in irrigation projects in the name of redesign and failure of the TRS Government to give jobs. “Rahul Gandhi has undermined and belittled the Central Water Commission, an apex body in the country, attached to the Union Water Resources Ministry, that gave all permissions to the prestigious Kaleshwaram project”, he alleged.
Reacting strongly on Twitter, Harish Rao suggested that Rahul should be careful with Congress script writers, who are misguiding him with wrong information on the irrigation projects. He also ridiculed Rahul Gandhi for his jibe against the Kaleshwaram project stating that its cost escalated to Rs 1 lakh cr from Rs 38000 cr against the actual cost of Rs 80,190 cr. The AICC Chief has just read out the script written by some of the congress leaders who do not have valid data, he said.
Rahul Gandhi should not blindly believe in the script writers who are making politics without content and to get mileage he charged. If that is the case why the congress script writers failed to touch upon Pranahitha-Chevella project whose first GO was issued for Rs 17000 cr, Harish Rao asked. In one year before starting the works the project cost was increased to Rs 38000 cr in 2008 and prepared DPR for Rs 40000 cr in 2010. Rahul cannot doubt the credibility of CWC and the script writers lack of understanding and are just misguiding him, he said.
Harish Rao also found fault with congress leaders for misguiding Rahul who stated that the TRS Government has changed Ambedkar project as Kaleshwaram project. Ambedkar Pranahitha project exists very much in Adilabad district to irrigate 2 lakh acres, he said. (NSS)
