Second phase trails begin for Covid 19 Vaccine at GMCH

In Assam, The Gauhati medical college and hospital(GMCH) is been selected for the second phase clinical trials for the COVID 19 vaccine said by Assam Minister of Health Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday.

The Gauhati medical college and hospital (GMCH) will provide all its support for the second phase clinical trials of the COVID 19 vaccine which has already shown its successful performance in phase 1 clinical trials, said by the Health Minister of Assam.

Assam has already tested 18.22 lakh and more samples from which 79,667 people have been tested positive for COVID-19 and from the total cases 56,734 people have been recovered from the deadly disease and with that the state has the recovery rate of 71.2 percent and mortality rate of 0.25 percent.

Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also said that 197 people have been died due to covid 19 in Assam till now, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Tripura, Gujarat, and Delhi are better than Assam.

The second face of the Covid 19 vaccine which is developed by the Indigenous Bharat BioTech company is in progress in Nizam’s Institute Of Medical Sciences (NIMS) of Hyderabad.

The medicos made arrangements to give a dose to the volunteer. One dose of the vaccine was given to the two volunteers who were selected for the trial.

Later they were shifted in the ICU where a team of the doctors observed their health condition round the clock. They were discharged as no symptoms of allergy was formed in their body, however, the doctors are monitoring their health condition.
