Senior Congress leaders once again revolt against Revanth Reddy

Despite the intervention of the party’s high command, infighting in the Telangana Congress has not yet subsided. Senior Congress leaders raised the revolt flag against TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy once again on Wednesday by staying away from the party program ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo Abhiyan’.

Even with the party leadership’s order, senior leaders N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Madhu Yashki Goud, V Hanumantha Rao, D Sridhar Babu, T Jagga Reddy, Damodara Rajanarsimha, Maheshwar Reddy, K Jana Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, K Geetha Reddy, P Sudarshan Reddy, Mohammad Azharuddin, MLA Podem Veeraiah and AICC Secretary Vamsi Chander Reddy did not turn up for the training program. Among those labeled as anti-Revanth Reddy, only CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka and veteran leader M Kodanda Reddy took part in the meeting.

Interestingly, Congress chief Mallikarjuna Kharge spoke with these senior leaders on Tuesday and invited them to the training classes. Despite Kharge’s directions, the seniors chose not to participate in the training program. According to reports, AICC in-charge secretary NS Bosu Raju spoke with the dissident leaders and asked them to cooperate with Revanth Reddy.

The same group of senior leaders protested last month against the various party posts given to leaders who joined Congress from the TDP. To resolve the infighting, the party’s high command dispatched senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh to Hyderabad. However, it appears that nothing has changed.

Priyanka expresses unhappiness over issues in Congress

Priyanka Gandhi, the All India Congress Committee general secretary, is said to have expressed unhappiness over the ongoing conflict in the Telangana unit of the party over appointments to various committees.

The Congress leader has inquired with AICC secretaries about the dispute between party original leaders and migrants or those who joined Congress from other parties, primarily the TDP, in recent years, and has reportedly invited senior party leaders to Delhi for a discussion on their problems with the Congress leadership.

Nadeem Javed was assigned as AICC secretary to Telangana to keep her up to date on party activities in the state. After speaking with leaders in Telangana and noting their objections to the new appointments in the party, Javed returned to Priyanka and is believed to have told her that the aggression among the leaders was serious and could spiral out of control if not addressed immediately.
