Shiv Sena hits out at Mayawati and Asad Owaisi for BJP’s win in UP

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut sarcastically said that, “Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati and AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi should be honoured with Padma Vibhushan or Bharat Ratna for their contribution in BJP’s yet another victory in Uttar Pradesh.”

While reacting before the media today over the impressive performance of Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav in UP, he said, “Though the has BJP registered a remarkable victory in Uttar Pradesh as the state was considered its stronghold, the seat tally of Samajwadi Party too was increased by three fold. However, Mayawati and Owaisi contributed in BJP’s victory yet again.”

Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi party increase its number by winning over 125 seats this time as against the 42 it bagged during last general elections in 2017. With an impressive performance this time, the Samajwadi party secured a second position, though distantly, in the elections.

However, while the Bahujan Samaj party led by Mayawati confined to only one assembly seat, the AIMIM party led by its Chief Asaduddin Owaisi taste an ignominious defeat by losing all the segments in an election to 403 seats.

Following the announcement of results, the Samajwadi party Chief Akhilesh Yadav took to twitter and thanked the people of Uttar Pradesh for evincing faith on his party and increased seat tally. “Hearty thanks to the People of UP for increasing our seats by two and a half times and vote percentage by one and a half times,” he wrote.

However, in a brusque tone the Bahujan Samaj party leader Mayawati said, “We learn a bitter lesson by believing Muslims this time. We will keep this formative experience in mind and will plan accordingly in future.”

While reacting over the outcome of the election during a press conference, Mayawati said, “Even the people from Dalit community voted in favour of BJP as they were afraid of revival of Samajwadi Party’s jungle Raj in the state. Moreover, Muslim voter evinced their faith in Samajwadi party in a bid to defeat BJP that caused a heavy damage to BSP. We learn a bitter lesson by believing Muslims this time. We will keep this formative experience in mind and will plan accordingly in future.”
