Telangana Government today offered with Dasharathi Krishnamacharya award to a well-known literary personality and former Vice-Chancellor of Telugu University, Elluri Shiva Reddy.
At a program held in Ravindra Bharati here with government advisor KV Ramana Chary and others, the minister felicitated the former vice-chancellor with the state award. It is honouring itself by honouring noted personalities in the field of literature and others, he said in the meeting after honouring Elluri Shiva Reddy with Dasharathi award.

The government constituted this award to honour those who serve the field for life time, he said. The government, he said, has decided to present this award to Shiva Reddy for his services in the field of literature and education in the state.
The Minister presented this award to the former vice chancellor in the city with Rs 1 lakh cash price and a citation.
The award was decided by a selection committee to offer the Dasharathi Krishnamacharya award to Shiva Reddy for his services in the field of literature and education. On receiving Dasharathi award, Shiva Reddy extended thanks to the government and Chief Minister.
