Minister Srinivas Goud today unveiled jerseys of the Olympian Mukesh Team for the upcoming Telangana premier hockey league at his residence. The league will commence on August 1, 2021.
Speaking on the occasion Goud said that the state government under the leadership of the chief minister of the state KCR constituted a cabinet sub-committee for the development of the sports sector in Telangana. He also said that they had taken up several steps to develop the sports sector in the state during the last seven years and added that they were building sports grounds in all assembly constituencies of the state.

He said that they would also take into consideration the suggestions of Olympian Mukesh Kumar in the formation of the sports policy of the state. He said that they would organize the Telangana premier hockey league in a prestigious manner with all international standards. A total of 8 teams are participating in the tournament. The league will be held for a period of two months. The players who will perform well in the tournament will be selected for the national team.
