Take war-footing steps to protect rain victims: KCR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister KCR today instructed ministers and Collectors concerned to take measures on a war-footing basis to protect floods and rain victims.

He asked them to ensure that no casualty is, reported in districts dye to heavy rains and floods.

KCR held a high-level review meeting at Pragati Bhavan here on the current situation of rain causing havoc in the districts. He cautioned them to remain high alert on the continuous rains causing havoc in the districts by getting reports from villages.

The ministers and top officials have to expeditiously take action to save lives and properties in the districts. The focus is on Warangal and Jayashankar Bhupalapally,  Adilabad, Nirmal, and other districts hit by heavy rains and floods.

The Chief Minister asked to protect the loss of lives and properties in the districts due to heavy rains. KCR said that funds are available for rescue and rehabilitation measures.

Coordinated efforts will prove handy and check the problems arising out of the rains, and floods he said. KCR asked Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to monitor and give instructions to collectors and officials on the rains and floods.

On Monday 17th august Ministers KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao today instructed Siddipet collector and SP to take immediate measures to protect TRS Leader J Srinivas who was washed away in heavy rains in the district.

The villagers protected the other three persons from the lake in full swing due to heavy rains in the district. However, they could not protect Srinivas a TRS leader from Tangallapally in Siricilla district.
Srinivas washed away with the car while three others were rescued by local people.  Reacting on this the ministers have alerted the district officials to use helicopter if necessary.
With their instructions, the district officials have sprung into action to find and protect the missing leader. They instructed the Siddipet collector and others to be vigilant at the spate of the lakes due to heavy rains.  Ensure such incidents do not recur in the near future they said.
