Telangana: 23 Candidates Remain in Fray for Dubbak By poll

Hyderabad: A sum of 23 candidates stayed in fray for November 3 by-poll to Dubbak Assembly seat in Telangana.

11 applicants pulled back their nominations on the previous day on Monday, said Chief Electoral Officer Dr Shashank Goel.

An aggregate of 46 candidates had registered their nominations. The elections officials dismissed the nominations of 12 of them.

The supporters are set to observe a three-cornered competition amongst ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate Solipeta Sujatha, Bharatiya Janata Party’s M. Raghunandan Rao, and Congress candidate Cheruku Srinivas Reddy.

Five candidates from different parties and 15 claimants have likewise registered their nominations for the by-poll.

In the Interim, the essential challenging parties have escalated their campaign. Heads of the TRS, Congress, and the BJP tended to rallies in various sections of the constituency.

The passing of sitting administrator Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy in August this year required the by-elections. TRS has fielded has to widow.

The Congress has named Srinivas Reddy, who left the party from the TRS early this month.

The BJP has again offered a ticket to Raghunandan Rao, who had completed a bad third in the 2018 election.

Both Sujatha and Srinivas Reddy are trying their luck at the hustings for the initial time. Raghunandan Rao is challenging the polls for the third time. He had come third in 2014 surveys also.

All India Congress Committee general secretary responsible for Telangana Manickam Tagore who visited Dubbak on Monday and assessed the campaigning performed by the party chiefs so far revealed to them that they would be considered responsible for the number of votes secured in polling stalls of which they are in control.

He took a genuine perspective on senior heads and a portion of the veterans who have not gone to Dubbak for battling despite being advised to do as such.

He stated: “Ultimately, the result will show the hard work done by each of you.”

Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and all senior chiefs went to the meeting which talked about how Uttam Kumar Reddy-drove group is striving to retaliate for the defeat exacted on the Congress by the ruling TRS in Huzurnagar by poll.
