Telangana bags investments worth Rs 11,700 crore in just 18 days

In just 18 days, in three countries, and multiple meetings with leading international and domestic business figures, Telangana’s investment pot grew by an impressive Rs 11,700 crore.

This perfectly sums up IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao’s tech-savvy and highly regarded visit to foreign shores in March and May

During a week-long visit to the US in March,KT Rama Rao led a delegation of professionals from the state that secured investments worth Rs 7,500 crore in multiple sectors. Likewise, he travelled to the United Kingdom in May and to Davos in Switzerland for the World Economic Forum (WEF) meet, which attracted Rs 4,200 crore in investments for the rapidly growing and progressive State in a matter of 10 days.

Meetings with top executives of several multinational companies resulted in these investments. Rama Rao also took part in several panel discussions and round table discussions.

In addition to his efforts, the Industries Minister has won accolades from various sections of society, including entrepreneurs and Twitterati.

The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry president K Bhasker Reddy said the Minister’s UK and Davos trips were extremely productive and made a mark in projecting Telangana as an investment destination.

He noted that the positive outcome of these trips was that not just the IT industry was keen to set up shop in Telangana, but also pharma, auto parts, R&D, life sciences, and even rail coach manufacturing units. “It is a hugely positive sign for industrial growth prospects,” Bhasker Reddy said.
