Telangana: CM KCR commences classes in eight new govt medical colleges

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao launched the commencement of classes in the eight newly established state government medical colleges on Tuesday.

The class was launched online by the Chief Minister from Pragathi Bhavan, his official residence.

With this, 1,150 first-year medical students began their studies in the eight colleges located at Sangareddy, Mahabubabad, Mancherial, Jagtiyal, Vanaparthi, Kothagudem, Nagarkurnool, and Ramagundam.

During the inauguration ceremony, KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, congratulated the medical students and staff. He also praised Health Minister Harish Rao and other senior officials for their unwavering efforts.

The chief minister described it as a “golden chapter in Telangana state history and an unforgettable day.”

“It is a proud moment that Telangana started eight medical colleges on a single day. No one dreamt of the establishment of government medical colleges in the tribal dominated Mahabubabad and in remote areas like Wanaparthy. The creation of Telangana State and the leadership of Telangana administration by the activists of Telangana struggle made the dreams come true,” he said.

KCR stated that his government is committed to establishing one medical college in each district.

The state now has 17 government medical colleges, thanks to the establishment of eight new colleges. These institutions were spread across 16 districts.

He mentioned that the construction of new medical colleges in another 17 districts will begin soon.
