Telangana Congress files police complaint against 12 MLAs who switched to BRS

According to the latest reports, the State Congress has filed a complaint with police against 12 MLAs who had switched loyalties to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) from Congress in 2018 and demanded a CBI investigation into the case.

It was reported that TPCC president A Revanth Reddy filed a complaint with the Moinabad police, accompanied by CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other leaders.

In a statement to the media, the TPCC president said that a complaint had been filed against the 12 MLAs who won elections on the Congress ticket in 2018 but switched sides to BRS (formerly TRS).

“We demand stringent action against the culprits,” Reddy said.

BRS responds to Revanth’s complaint.

In light of the Congress’ complaint to the police about the defection of MLAs, BRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy wanted to know about the benefits received by TPCC president A Revanth Reddy for joining the Congress from the Telugu Desam party.

When the TPCC president quit from the TDP, he said he gave the resignation letter to Chandrababu Naidu but not to the Assembly Speaker.

“What are the monetary benefits received by Revanth Reddy for quitting TDP and joining the Congress. Did he get benefits from Telugu Desam or Congress?” Rohit Reddy asked at a press conference on Friday.

He further said that the TPCC president had filed the complaint solely to divert the attention of the public away from the internal squabbling in Congress.

He said that as per schedule 10 of the Constitution, the CLP was merged with the BRS (the then TRS) and the TPCC president should learn the rules.

The allegations made by TPCC president Revanth Reddy over the MLAs defection were baseless, according to the BRS MLA from Vikarabad.
