Telangana: FIR filed against Raja Singh by TRS Sikh minority faction

Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) Sikh minority faction has also filed a case against MLA Raja Singh for his derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad.

The representatives said that it used to be peaceful in Telangana, but now they use unparliamentary language and raise communal issues. Previously, there were no religious issues in Telangana, but now the Bharatiya Janata party is trying to incite religious hatred.

Police in Dabeerpura and several other police stations have booked the BJP MLA for remarks he made about the Prophet Muhammad. His arrest followed protests against his objectionable comments in a “comedy video” he released on Monday.

The Nampally court, however, granted Singh bail due to a technical error during his arrest.

As a result of the video going viral, a number of people protested outside CV Anand’s office and demanded his arrest.

In response to protests against BJP MLA Raja Singh’s remarks against Prophet Muhammad, police forces were deployed outside the Hyderabad police commissioner’s office, the Director General of Police’s office at Lakdikapul, the old police commissioner’s office at Purani Haveli, and other important places in the city.

There is no indication whether there is additional security outside the BJP office in Hyderabad as well.

As per the reports, the Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also decided to disassociate itself from remarks made by party MLA Raja Singh about Prophet Muhammad.

“Our party respects all faiths, and if anyone departs from it, we will investigate,” chief spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao reportedly said.

“We are a national party that does not recognize religious differences. The BJP treats everyone equally. We do not support hate speech, and if Raja Singh deviates from it, the party will investigate,” BJP’s Krishna Saagar Rao added.
