Telangana Govt allotted Rs 933 crore for veterinary services

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SK Joshi today stressed the need for improving of facilities in all veterinary hospitals in the state.

Joshi conducted a high level review meeting at Secretariat here and asked the officials to take immediate steps for providing improved health services to the cattles. The officials were also asked to initiate steps by complying National Life Stock Mission guidelines.

He said that Rs 933 crore has been allocated in the budget for improving veterinary health facilities in the state. Joshi directed the officials to prepare a perfect plan of action.

Referring to mobile veterinary clinics he said that 3600 calls are being received daily and resolved 3000 cases. Joshi said that there are eight district level Veterinary Hospitals, 101 Area hospitals, 906 Primary Centers, 1100 Sub Centres are functioning across the state.

We plan to reach a target of producing 5 lakh liters milk a day against the present 3.68 lakh litres of milk he said and directed to strengthen Vijaya Dairy and increase its business. This year, he said about 75.80 crores fish seed stocked and to be dropped in 24,192 reservoirs, lakes and water bodies. Stating that IFDS tools, mopeds being offered to fishermen and built 43 markets for business Joshi said that 3 lakh sheep units have been distributed and reviewed on poultry business.

Other issues came for discussion are increase of productivity, fodder and improving skill development, construction of slaughter house, distribution of chaff cutters, baling machines straw bales has to be taken up.

Animal Husbandry Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Fisheries Commissioner, Suvarna, Dairy Development M D Srinivas Rao, Commissioner Panchayat Raj and Rral Development Neetu Prasad and others attended the meeting. (NSS)
