Telangana Gowshala Federation’s Plea to Stop Cow Slaughter

Hyderabad: Idul Zuha (Bakri-Eid ) is fast approaching and on this auspicious festival poor Cow and its progeny is looking towards not only animal lovers, but law implementers, and Judiciary. On 22nd of August 2018, several thousands of cows and its progeny will be slaughtered in Hyderabad and adjoining districts violating all the norms of A.P. Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act, 1977 and Supreme Court Judgments.

Stating this in a press release today, Mahesh Agarwal, President, Telangana Goshala Federation, said since last several years the organisation is working for the strict implementation of cow protections Act. But the Government machinery is not cooperating in this aspect. The Animals were transported very cruelly in lorry violating all the norms. The transport department is not booking cases against the offenders. Not a Single animal in a vehicle is supported with the veterinary certificate. Maximum number of cows and useful bulls was slaughtered in GHMC limit violating A.P. Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal preservation Act, 1977 and all the cows and its progeny were transported through other district to Hyderabad by road transport. The police department/ transport department is not booking cases against the persons who were transporting the animals for slaughter.

He said that in protest of the mass killing of the cows and bulls, their members will submit memorandum at all district office for the strict implementation of the animal welfare laws. Representation to various concerned officials, meetings, essay writing among school children’s will be observed.

We request the concerned officials to take all steps for the strict implementation of The A.P. Prohibition of Cow slaughter & Animal Preservation Act, 1977.

The Supreme Court pronounced landmark Judgment in 1994 after 12 Years evaluation, and said Sacrificing of Cow progeny is not a religious but economic compulsion, and hence there shall not be any offering or sacrificing of Cow Progeny even on Bakri-Eid Day. But whole country and Andhra Pradesh is making the mockery of the verdict and highly cruel sale, Transport and brutal slaughter can be seen in violation.

“We, the law abiding citizen of India warn the law offenders for stringent lawful action and also alarm the law implementing agencies to stop this heinous crime in their jurisdiction”, Agarwal added. (NSS).
