HYDERABAD: Telangana High Court has issued notices to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma while responding to a petition filed by victims of the Disha encounter. The counsel for the petitioners told the High Court that the decision of Varma to make a movie on the lives of the victims was causing a lot of emotional pain to them.
He also said that the making of the movie would also force the victims to their native villages. He said that the filmmaker was making attempts to show the victims as villains in the movie. He urged the high court to issue orders of stay on the release of the movie on Disha.
The High Court later adjourned the matter for two weeks after issuing the notices to the film director. It may be noted here that the father of Disha Sridhar Reddy has already filed a case in the issue and made a similar plea to the High Court.
