Telangana Home Minister Receives Midnight Call Over Biryani

In a very odd event, a concerned citizen called Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali at midnight on Thursday, seeking answers to a question about Biryani.

According to local media reports, a resident of the old city called the minister at midnight to inquire about the length of time Biryani shops are permitted to remain open.

Not surprisingly, the minister reacted a bit sourly. He explained to the man that as the Home Minister, he has hundreds of worries on his mind and cannot devote time to thinking about Biryani.

He did, however, eventually respond to the man’s question. The hotels will close at 11 p.m., according to the minister.

Many All India Majlis-E-Ittahadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leaders have approached the city police commissioner in recent weeks, requesting that Biryani restaurants be allowed to stay open until midnight.

Zomato shareholder orders ‘inter-city’ biryani but receives only salan

After trying the company’s new inter-city food delivery service, a Zomato customer and shareholder was disappointed. Prateek Kanwal, of Gurugram, stated he ordered a chicken biryani from a restaurant in Hyderabad but received only a small box of salan.

He also wrote about his “double loss,” on Twitter first as a customer and then as a Zomato shareholder, pleading with the food delivery platform and its CEO to address the problem.

On Saturday, Kanwal, Director of Policy and Advocacy at NewGlobe, wrote, “Ordered chicken biryani from Hotel Shadab using Zomato interstate legend service and all I got was a small box of salan.”

“Deepinder Goyal, this seemed like a great idea but my dinner plans are up in the air now. Now, you owe me a Biryani in Gurgaon!” he added, tagging Zomato’s CEO, who had recently announced a pilot of an inter-city delivery service called ‘Legends.’
