Telangana To Speed Up The Vaccination Process After Conducting 1 Lakh Tests And 1 Lakh Vaccinations In A Day

Amidst the rising Coronavirus cases across the country, Telangana has achieved yet another milestone. The state has conducted one lakh Covid 19 tests and given out one lakh Covid vaccines in a single day.

Director Of Public Health and Family Welfare Appreciates Public For Achievement 

Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health and Family Welfare said on Friday that they achieved the milestone on Thursday itself. He further appreciated the public awareness about both detection and protection from the Coronavirus.

He also stated that with the rising cases of the Covid 19, the state has doubled its efforts to curb the Covid cases and increased the number of tests that can be taken every day.

Ever since the pandemic broke out, this is the first time when the state has conducted over one lakh tests on a single day. The total number of tests taken were 1,01,986. Out of these 89,645 samples were taken in government laboratories and the rest in private laboratories.

The official further confirmed that the Rapid Antigen Tests are being taken at 1,064 centers. He also confirmed that they will be opening up 15 more district headquarters across the state for RT-PCR testing. The department is taking steps towards ensuring 25,000 RT-PCR tests to be conducted every day.

Telangana High Court Accused Authorities For Inadequate Measures 

The Telangana High Court on Thursday told the authorities for not conducting the right number of RT-PCR tests in the state. The court said that there are fewer numbers of RT-PCR tests being taken amidst the second wave of Covid 19 across the country. The court has asked the health authorities to increase the amounts of RT-PCR tests to 70 per cent.
As per the reports, the health authorities have given 17.83 lakh doses so far. The Director of Public Health said that the vaccination is being supplied to over 1100 centres. They further said that they will be speeding up the supply in the coming days.

He also revealed that 80 percent of the 10,000 beds by the government-run hospitals are vacant.
