“Telangana’s contribution to India exceeds the amount released to it by Govt of India”- KTR

Ahead of elections, the Minister of MA & UD of Telangana KTR  showed the data of Telangana’s contribution to the Govt of India matched with that received by it since 2014, in a bid to send a bolting stroke to the ruling party.

With the stats in hand, KTR tweeted the figures that Telangana and its people have sent to the Centre through taxes.

The Minister asked “people” to do a fact-check before rendering songs of empathy to the Govt of India for providing aid to Telangana as the residents have sent way more than what has been released to the State.

From the data posted by KTR, Telangana has given almost double of what has been sent to State by the Indian Government in these 6-7 years.

Calling Telangana as a “pillar of strength for India”, the IT Minister tweeted saying, “The people of Telangana should know that since 2014, our Telangana’s contribution to Centre in the form of taxes is a whopping ₹2,72,926 Cr whereas what Centre has released to Telangana is ₹1,40,329 Cr!

Telangana continues to be a pillar of strength for India. #TelanganaEconomy”

He told the “ignorants” to pause before going “chest-thumping” to speak about the alleged amount “bestowed” to Telangana by the Centre and look for facts.

Telangana sent Rs. 40,727 crores in its first financial year after formation and continued to send increasing amounts in the consecutive years with 2017-18 witnessing Rs. 69,677 crores shared across to the Govt for India collected as taxes. On the other hand, the Centre had sent 14,924 crores in 2014-15 and most recently in 2019-20, released 27,873 crores for the State.

In a separate tweet in this series, the minister said Telangana’s GDP growth rate has continued to stay higher than the average of the country. According to him, the milestone has been achieved through “able leadership, progressive policies & an ear to the ground”.

KTR reminded that while the country’s growth remained shunted at 54.9% during 2014-2020, Telangana skyrocketed with its 83.9% growth. It was also one of the top five states of India to record a low debt-GSDP ratio with only 22.8.

In the elections department, KTR has written to the Chief Election Commissioner about the news obtained by him from “sources” regarding BJP’s plans of creating violence in the state post the incident of its worker self-immolating.

His letter comes after a BJP worker tried to put himself on fire in front of the BJP office in Nampally to protest against the arrest of state president of BJP Bandi Sanjay by the Siddipet cops, ahead of the Dubakka by-polls.

The man’s motives were unfilled as the police and other BJP workers rescued him from his own wrath.

He was shifted to Osmania Hospital and later to Yashoda Hospital.
