Ten year old girl donates Rs 1 lakh to CMRF on her birthday

Hyderabad: A ten-year-old city girl Varunika today donated Rs 1 lakh to the State government and wished that the amount be used for the welfare of needy persons. Instead of spending the money on her birthday party, she wished to meet Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao and donate the amount for the use of general public.

Varunika’s father Gaddampalli Ravinder Reddy met Minister KTR and expressed their daughter’s wish and prepared a cheque of Rs 1 lakh towards Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) which was handed over to the minister by birthday girl Varunika, at the CM camp office on Wednesday.

The minister wished her good luck and accepted the donation for CMRF. He appreciated the spirit and consciousness of the little girl towards doing good for the society and said this kind of deeds would make the society better place for all.

Varunika has been a keen follower of Minister KTR’s news and always wanted to meet him. She also had a great admiration for the young minister and used to follow his works in various sectors. Interestingly, Varunika also promised before the minister that she would do something good for the society on her every birth day.(NSS)
