Tension grips BRS camps as ED’s questioning Kavitha entered into 10th hour

The second round of questioning of BRS MLC K.Kavitha in Delhi Liquor Scam today by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has so far entered into 10th hour but the suspense over her release remain continue as the unnerved BRS leaders glued to television sets and watching the development with baited breath.

The first round of questioning was held on March 11 when Kavitha, the daughter of BRS chief and Chief Minister Telangana K.Chandrashekher Rao also known as KCR, was allowed to leave the office after nine long hours of interrogation but was asked to appear before the agency on March 16 again.

However, Kavitha skipped the questioning on March 16 and instead approached the Supreme Court alleging that the investigating agency has no legal jurisdiction to summon a lady to its office hence seeking appropriate relief.

Even before the matter came up for hearing on March 24, the hellbent ED, who even moved to Supreme Court asking to not to pass any order on the Plea filed by Kavith without hearing the contention of the investigating agency.

Meanwhile, the ED summoned the BRS MLC on March 20 again and the suspense continues eversince Kavitha entered into the ED’s office on Monday morning for second round of questioning.

It was 11.00 O’clock in the morning when K.Kavitha entered into the premises of ED’s office in New Delhi and no fresh development came out yet while eight long hours have been passed ever since she entered into the arena of investigating agency.

It is learnt that the ED officials rained down the quarries on K.Kavitha again in Delhi Liquor Scam mainly asked her about her involvement in the scam. It is also learnt that the ED official interrogated Kavitha in the presence of Arun Pillai, the main accused already in the ED’s net.

The investigating officials reportedly asked Kavitha about her business relationship with Pillai and South Group, the company under the scanner of ED ever since the scame came to fore.

Unlike the first round of investigation last week, both Kavitha and Arun Pillai were interrogated together today by the investigating officials. It is said that Kavitha refrained from reacting to many questions posed by the ED officials.

The day was quite normal for a few hours today until K.Kavith’s lawyers entered ED’s office but the tension ratchet-up when few doctors followed them soon. Though the visit of lawyers to Ed’s office is quite common, the tension heightened with the entry of doctors as speculation mounted in BRS camps about the method of questioning being adopted by the investigation officials today.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the investigating officials took signatures of Kavitha on the documents during the interrogation. This might be the reason why Kavitha sought the help of her lawyers before putting her specimens on the papers. However, there is no clarity over ED officials’ seeking signature of BRS leader except the assumption whether it is to arrest or to say that the investigation is concluded?

Despite the temperature went down in Delhi and the ED’s office area witnessing showers for quit few hours, the tension seems not settling down in the BRS camps both in Telangana as well as in country’s capital as the second round of questioning today  – that entered into 10th hour, has surpasses the limit of first day’s interrogation which went on for nine hours.
