Tent Fire During Telangana Formation Day Festivities Highlights Need for Firecracker Safety

During the Telangana Formation Day festivities in Nizamabad district, a tent caught fire when Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) members set off firecrackers. The event occurred in Puranipet village, where State Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashanth Reddy was attending a programme beside a lake. Cultural programmes were held around water bodies across the state as part of the celebrations.

According to witnesses, one of the firecrackers dropped on the tent, causing it to catch fire. The fire swiftly enveloped the tent, destroying it completely. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

It is worth noting that a similar tragedy occurred on April 12 in Khammam district, where a fire ignited by firecrackers claimed three lives. Such occurrences serve as a reminder of the need of exercising caution and following safety precautions when handling explosives and firecrackers during holiday celebrations.
