Tik-Tok Becomes Most Downloaded Non-Gaming App For October 2021

In a recent update, TikTok has emerged as the most downloaded non-gaming app across the world for October 2021. It has hit more than 57 million installations/

China Holds Largest Number of Installs

As per the reports released by the Sensor Tower, China has the largest number of installs of TikTok at 17 percent, followed by the United States of American with 11 percent. This comes after Instagram was reported to be the most downloaded app with 56 million installs.

The countries with the largest number of Instagram installs included India at 39 percent and Brazil with 6 percent. Meanwhile, Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram were rounded out to be top five most downloaded non-gaming apps across the world for October 2021.

Last year, the government of India had banned around 56 chinese applications including TikTok.

Shopping Apps Reach 113 Million Downloads In India

In a separate report by the Sensor Tower and MAAS, the shopping apps in India has reached 113 million downloads in October 2021. The Indian social e-commerce company, Meesho contributes to more than 12 million downloads. It also was one of the top ten apps by overall downloads globally for the month of October this year.

It was the eighth on the list in terms of overall downloads. Meesho was also the seventh most downloaded non-gaming app on the playstore for October.

This comes after Meesho recently announced a $5.5 million ESOP liquidity program for all the eligible current and former employees with the vested stocks. This is the company’s second liquidity program in less than a year.

Last month, Meesha raised $570 million series F from the Fidelity Management & Research Company, B Capital group and other new and existing partners. Over the last six months, the company has seen 2.8 times growth in the monthly transacting users and a 2.5 times rise in the monthly orders.
