Total of 769 vehicles distributed under Dalit Bandhu scheme

In a program held at Ambedkar Stadium, the Minister distributed Dalit Bandhu units to beneficiaries. Beneficiaries received a total of 769 vehicles valued at Rs 94.84 lakh.

The Dalit Bandhu scheme was implemented by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in order to bring comprehensive change in the lives of Dalits, said BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar.

Kamalakar said the Chief Minister introduced the scheme to carry forward the aspirations of Dr BR Ambedkar, Jyotirao Phule and Babu Jagjivan Ram and reinforce the economic status of Dalits. By implementing a number of welfare schemes for the upliftment of downtrodden communities, the Telangana government has become a role model for the entire country.

As part of the Dalit Bandhu scheme, each beneficiary would receive Rs 10 lakh without a bank account.

Dalits now have the chance to develop in the fields that they are interested in, he said, advising them to choose more profitable enterprises in order to increase their income. The Dalits, who once worked as drivers and cleaners, were gradually becoming owners of transportation vehicles.

At the programme, ZP Chairman Kanumalla Vijaya, Mayor Y Sunil Rao of Karimnagar, the Chairman of SC Corporation Banda Srinivas, and Additional Collector Garima Agarwal participated.

Dalit Bandhu, according to Balka Suman, was one of the world’s most innovative and effective programs. In his address on Thursday, he presented 71 households with units under the Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme in celebration of Dr BR Ambedkar’s 131st birthday.

Introducing the Dalit Bandhu scheme to beneficiaries, Suman said it was a hassle-free initiative. There is no requirement that they contribute or provide collateral and they need to repay the loan when it is due. The scheme was conceptualized by K Chandrashekhar Rao after doing assignments for quite a while. “He is modern Ambedkar,” he said.
