With a surge in travel anticipated on National Highway-65 as residents of Hyderabad head to their hometowns in Andhra Pradesh and nearby regions for the Sankranti festival, the Rachakonda police have released a comprehensive traffic advisory to manage congestion.
To ease the pressure on the highway, heavy vehicles have been rerouted via alternate paths. The designated routes include the Outer Ring Road (ORR) Ghatkesar Exit through Bhongir, Valigonda, Ramannapet, and Chityala Junction, as well as the ORR Bongulur Exit leading to Nagarjuna Sagar Highway via Ibrahimpatnam, Haliya, Miryalaguda, and Kodad.
Motorists from areas such as KPHB and Miyapur have been advised to use the ORR to bypass traffic-heavy zones like LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuram. Authorities have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance to avoid peak traffic hours and ensure a smoother travel experience.

Travelers are also reminded to verify the operational status of their FASTags for hassle-free toll gate crossings, check for live traffic updates before setting out, and adhere to traffic regulations. Additionally, ensuring vehicle readiness and taking breaks for rest during long trips were highlighted as essential safety measures.
To assist commuters, the Rachakonda traffic police have stationed officers at strategic points near Hyderabad. Travelers can contact the traffic control room at 8712662999 or reach the social media control room at 8712662111 for real-time updates or assistance.
This proactive approach by the Rachakonda police aims to ensure a safe and smooth travel experience for the public during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
