In a heartbreaking incident, five members of a family lost their lives, and three others, including two children, were critically injured in a devastating road accident while returning home from a trip to pick up their grandson after school holidays. The tragic accident took place near Meklagandi in Adilabad district, Telangana.
The accident occurred when a Suzuki pickup truck, in which the family was traveling, lost control and crashed into a divider. The deceased have been identified as 65-year-old Abdul Muizzuddin, president of the Adilabad Jama Masjid, his 40-year-old son-in-law Khwaja Moinuddin, and their grandchildren — 11-year-old Muhammad Usmanuddin, 13-year-old Fareeduddin, and 5-year-old Muhammad Ali. These fatalities have deeply shaken the local community, particularly the congregation at Adilabad Jama Masjid, where Abdul Muizzuddin served as president.
In addition to the fatalities, three family members sustained severe injuries. They include 38-year-old Ayesha Afreen, wife of Khwaja Moinuddin, and their two children — 8-year-old Iqra and 10-year-old Muhammad Saad. All three were rushed to Adilabad RIMS Hospital for emergency medical care.
Upon receiving the distress call, local police immediately dispatched emergency services to the scene. Three ambulances from the 108 emergency service were deployed to transport the injured victims to Adilabad RIMS Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. Their condition remains critical, and medical staff are working tirelessly to stabilize them.
The police have since shifted the bodies of the deceased to the mortuary at RIMS Hospital for post-mortem examinations. A case has been registered, and an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident, including whether speeding, mechanical failure, or road conditions contributed to the loss of control.
