Transmission rate is more in new strain in Abroad; Though no need to panic, we all must be very cautious: Governor

Hyderabad: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated on Monday that the new strain of Coronavirus was transmitting fast Abroad. Instead of getting panic, people need to be cautious and adhere to all the preventive norms to break the chain.

The Governor was responding to a series of queries on Twitter as part of her #AskDrTamilisaiGuv on Monday evening between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

The Governor, who herself is a medical doctor, advised people to be extra cautious and follow all the preventive norms like maintaining distance, washing hands, using sanitizer, and the all-important wearing mask to prevent the spread of a new strain of the Coronavirus.
Responding to a query, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said that the genome reports of the new strain from the UK returnees were awaited.

“I salute the Indian government and our scientists for making the vaccine possible. The vaccine is only to prevent the spread. It will develop the antibodies. Even those who have got affected earlier need to take the vaccine. Vaccine trial dry runs have begun in as many as four States. This interaction was undertaken to create awareness among people and to prepare them fully to guard themselves against the new strain.” the Governor
added.

In response to a question, the Governor stated that to prevent the spread of the second wave was actually in our hands.

Cautioning people about the precautions to be taken during the use of public transportation, Dr. Tamilsai Soundararajan advised the people to maintain physical distancing, wearing a mask, carry the sanitizer and take a bath before mingling with the family members after reaching home.

The Governor said that we must be proud that Hyderabad was taking a lead in vaccine research. The  Prime Minister’s visit to the Bharat Biotech has also motivated the Scientists working for the vaccine.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan emphasized the fact that it was in the hands of the people to prevent the spread of the new strain by strictly adhering to all the preventive norms and breaking the chain as the new strain was found to be transmitted fast.
