TRS govt farmer-friendly, keen to provide housing to poor: KCR

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government will be farmer friendly and provide them with all succor, according to Leader of the House and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Talking in the House on debate over Governor Address and thanksgiving motion, the Chief Minister accused the past governments of neglecting the farm sector and land records. No other State in the country could dared to conduct Land Cleansing Survey and the TRS government has achieved it. About 95 per cent of the lands were cleansed with core data and will complete the remaining despite some problems.

The Government will soon launch official website “Dharani” to enable the land records details, he said. KCR claimed that only Telangana State was implementing the Rythu Bheema in the country and helped 6,062 kin of farmers and credited about Rs 300 crore into their respective bank accounts. He also alleged that the previous governments failed to help the farmers on practices and cultivation and the TRS regime has recruited some 1,500 extension officers to help them. A total of 2,800 officials will be assisting the farmers at field level and credit goes to then Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who is now Speaker of the Assembly, he said.

The Chief Minister said the State government was finding actual number of beneficiaries under two bedroom housing scheme free of cost and the officials will adopt transparent methods. KCR charged that the past governments gave the housing for some amount which involved corruption. “We should protect forests, increase greenery and ensure non polluting atmosphere to future generations and taking required steps.

Delhi State was facing acute pollution problem forcing the people to buy oxygen, he pointed out. Such bad condition should not come to us and we have to work together for more greenery and forest cover in the State of Telangana. Ownership of the forest lands will be changed and the government will show alternative and help those Tribals and others relying on forest and products they get from. (NSS)
