TS Police helping TRS leaders pursue vindictive politics: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP  N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has strongly condemned the TRS Government for implicating Congress leaders in false cases. He alleged that a few officials of Telangana Police were behaving as TRS activists and helping the ruling party leaders pursue vindictive politics.

Led by Uttam Kumar Reddy, Congress leaders including Bhongiru MP Komatireddy Venkatreddy, MLAs Sridhar Babu and Sitakka, former union minister Balram Nayak, ex-minister Konda Surekha, ex-MP Gaddam Vinod, ex-MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao, DCC presidents Naini Rajender Reddy, Rajaiah, and others met Raghava Reddy in the Warangal Central Prison during the mulakhat on Saturday.

Speaking to media persons later, Uttam Kumar Reddy accused Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao of resorting to vindictive politics. He alleged that Jangaon DCC president Janga Raghava Reddy was arrested by the Kazipet police based on a false complaint lodged by one person T. Samaiah around two months ago. He said although the complainant had realized his mistake and wanted to compromise, Dayakar Rao, in connivance with some local police officials, re-opened the case and got Raghava Reddy arrested. He said that the charges leveled against Raghava Reddy were totally baseless and politically motivated. Describing the arrest as illegal, he alleged that Janga Reddy was first kidnapped and later it was shown as an arrest.

Reddy also slammed a few officials of Telangana Police who are behaving like TRS activists. He advised the police officials to act as per law within the sphere of the Constitution and stop dancing to the tunes of the ruling party. He said that the Congress party was all set to return to power in the next elections and it would take action against all such officials who implicated Congress leaders and cadre in false cases.

He said that Congress would not tolerate harassment of party cadre by the police. He said that the Congress party would explore all legal options to counter the fake case against Janga Reddy and other Congress leaders in the State.

The TPCC Chief alleged that TRS was trying to weaken the Congress party by putting its senior leaders in jail in false cases. He said that the Congress party would launch a ‘Jail Bharo Agitation’ if the TRS Govt and TS Police don’t change their behavior.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, MP alleged that minister Dayakar Rao was harassing their party leaders by using officials who are acting as his stooges. Targeting the CM he alleged that the CM who had promised to develop the state failed to do so till now. He warned the ruling party leaders to not come near their party leaders. He said that there would not have been any political party in the state during the last 30 years had they destroyed the opposition political parties like the ruling TRS party.

The party MLA Seethakka had demanded the state government to release their party without any condition.

Earlier in the day, Uttam and other Congress leaders were stopped by the police at Hyderabad-Warangal National Highway. The Congress leaders had a heated argument with the police officials for their action. Some Congress workers also tried to remove the barricades which led to a minor scuffle. Finally, the police allowed the Congress leaders to proceed to Warangal Central Jail.
