TSCS, a mission with a sole objective to free the country from Thalassemia

On the occasion of World Blood Donation Day, a blood donation camp was held at Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Society, (TSCS), Shivarampally, Hyderabad. Home Minister Mahmood Ali visited the camp.

TSCS President Chandrakant Agarwal briefed the Minister about the services being provided at Thalassemia centre and the need of blood donors to support transfusion of blood to Thalassemia patients. Blood donation camps were conducted across the state from where the collected blood is being utilised to treat the patients who need blood transfusion at regular intervals. TSCS has also appealed to the Minister in releasing a G.O for mandatory antenatal test – HbA2 for every pregnant woman to help treat the Thalassemia at the initial stage.

Speaking on the occasion, President TSCS Chandrakant Agarwal, said, “With the objective of helping all Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia affected children, TSCS has established a well-maintained transfusion centre, high-quality blood bank, modern diagnostic laboratory, and advanced research centre under one roof to support more than 2800 registered patients. TSCS is World’s biggest society serving more than 3000 Thalassemia Children with modern equipment and specialist doctors, Free of Cost in Hyderabad. Our free services include doctor consultation, free laboratory investigations (CBP), medicines, HLA test, HbA2 test of parents, siblings and extended family members, Blood transfusion and Free Bone Marrow Transplant with the help of Bajaj Electronics, Hyderabad”.

Vice President TSCS Ms. Ratnavali Kothapalli and Joint Secretary M.A.Aleem Baig were also accompanied by the minister.

Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) is a registered non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1998 represented mainly by a small group of patient’s parents, doctors, well-wishers and philanthropists to provide the best treatment and management to patients suffering from Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia.
