TTDP seeks CM’s intervention to resolve ration shop dealers’ problems

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP today sought intervention of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for resolving problems of ration shop dealers, who have been agitating for their demands in the State.

Seeking intervention of the Chief Minister, TTDP State president L Ramana wrote an open letter to the former alleging that the TRS government was not conceding the demands of the ration shop dealers. “The State government should try to resolve their problems before they resort to strike from July 1 as announced. If the strike continues, it will cause hardship to poor people for not getting essential commodities”, he expressed concern.

In his letter to the CM , Ramana mentioned some of the major demands of the ration shop dealers like the expenditure for transporting grains should be borne by the Civil Supplies Corporation, Rs five lakh health insurance and ESI cards to family members of the ration shop dealer, government should facilitate getting Rs five lakh from the nationalised banks and Civil Supplies Corporation should give bank guarantee, immediate release of arrears of Rs 416 crore pending since 2015 and providing at least Rs 30,000 salary to ration dealers, Rs 6,000 to those working in the ration shops and Rs 3,000 shop rent.
