Ulbs Polls Held Smoothly :State Election Commission

On the polling day for Seven Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)  State Election Commissioner,  Partha Sarathi stated that polls are held as per Corona protocols in a smooth way. The counting of the votes to be held on May 3.

 

In a video conference with officials, the SEC has stated that the polls for Warangal, and Khammam corporations, and other five urban local bodies are being held from 7 am to 5 pm.  With Webcasting, police security and Corona protocols followed in all polling stations. We strictly follow Corona protocols and made necessary arrangements in coordination with other departments for fair polls in ULBs.

He said that people come in good numbers to cast their votes in Warangal and Khammam Municipal Corporations and five Municipalities Nakirekal, Siddipet, Jadcherla, Achampet  and Kothur saw polls.

He said that the polls held in 1539 polling stations and the poll staff reached their destinations to conduct the polls in a smooth way as 9809 staff attended the poll duties. The officials informed that there are  11,34,032 voters to exercise their franchise in the polls on April 30.

Partha Sarathi said that as per election commission orders the polling stations follow Corona norms strictly during the polls. Around 30 to 50 percent of voters turned out by 3 pm in these ULBs during the poll process according to information.

The high court rapped the Government and poll body for the polls and asked for fair polls amid Corona protocols and smooth counting ahead on May 3. The Government assured of taking action for Corona protocols and conduct smooth polls.
